"Francis McQueen lost his family when he was still a rookie. He literally lost them. He had snuck a talisman home from the scene of a bizarre crime in order to impress his son. After handing it over, he went to get himself a cold beer, and when he returned to the den, his family was gone. All that remained was the talisman, slightly larger, slightly rounder. And, McQueen swears, it burped… McQueen went odd that night, becoming obsessed with the paranormal, hoping to someday find a way to get his family back. He became a laughing stock, many times coming close to getting kicked off the force. Then one night, the police chief called – her husband had started acting strange, the kind of strange McQueen was into. Nobody knows what happened for sure, but there are rumours of talking in tongues, spinning heads and a desire to wear 80’s clothing. Horrifying. Thankfully McQueen was able to save him and, in doing so, gained an ally in the chief and found himself promoted to the newly established Darkside Division, set up to protect Twin Lakes from the things that go bump in the night*…"
